What's on my Business Bookshelf: A Behind-the-Scenes Look

I’m a total bookworm. My favorite genre? Books that help you kick ass in business (if that’s not a section in Barnes n Noble, it really should be)

Here are 6 books on my bookshelf that I highly recommend. Total page turners in the pursuit of creating a better business (and life).

Grab a copy on Amazon...or, better yet...support your local bookstore!

Let's dive in:

1. Everything is Figureoutable by Marie Forleo

Marie Forleo a dynamic, fun-loving serial entrepreneur who gives tactical, practical, and playful advice for shifting your mindset and your life. Everything is Figureoutable provided me with such a unique perspective switch in how I go about life and business. If everything truly is figureoutable, our businesses are no exception. 10/10 review. This is a must-read.

2. Atomic Habits by James Clear

James Clear, or should I call him the productivity guru, talks about how we can create small, bit-size changes in our life that amount to miraculous results. Tips and tricks to build productive, enjoyable habits that take you from where you are to where you are meant to be.

3. Mindset by Carol Dweck

This might just be my favorite book, period. Carol Dweck is an ivy-league level researcher and professor who discovered something phenomenal: our mindsets do in fact dictate our actions and our quality of life. In her best-selling book Mindset, Dweck addresses the two dominant mindsets, Fixed and Growth, and how stepping into a growth mindset will change the way you live, lead, and do business. Seriously epic.

4. Essentialism by Greg McKeown

Focus on the shit that actually matters and ignore the rest. That's the premise of Essentialism, a book by Greg McKeown that wonderfully reframes the way we view our “to-do” list.

5. The Greatest You by Trent Shelton

Trent Shelton should win an award for perfectly combining cheerleader-style support with tough love in his book The Greatest You. Shelton never shys away from the real, uncomfortable, and necessary conversations that we have to have with ourselves in order to grow. An easy, quick read that you surely won’t regret if you’re trying to step into your power and own who you are.

6. Building a Story Brand

Building a Story Brand aka the brand messaging bible is an incredible resource for business owners who need to clarify their messaging, create sticky marketing tactics, and make the sale. I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve read this book. So dang good.

Add any of these six books to take your personal (and biz) development up a notch.
